چکیده

Background/Aim: Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common congenital heart anomaly that in many cases closes spontaneously. The spontaneous closure (SC) rate of VSD varies widely between studies. aim this study was to identify clinical and echocardiographic factors influencing SC isolated first year life among a group patients presented at Paediatric Clinic. Methods: Prospective performed 60 consecutive with trivial, small or medium during life. Patients were divided into groups, according gender gestational age patient, type, number size persistence pulmonary hypertension. described comparison diameter aortic annulus (VSD/Ao ratio). Results: At time diagnosis, mean VSD/Ao ratio 0.33 mm. Muscular more (76.7 %) than perimembranous (23.3 %). occurred % all patients, case muscular 73.9 14.3 %. There negative correlation rate. probability for given by formula: = -1.82933X+1.20145. None hypertension closed. Conclusion: It found type significant predictors SC, while patient defects not. This can be useful predicting natural outcome make proper follow-up management plans.

A review of spontaneous closure of ventricular septal defect.

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common congenital heart malformation and can be detected during the prenatal and postnatal period, in childhood, and in adulthood. Spontaneous closure of VSD can be determined through a variety of methods-echocardiography, Doppler color flow imaging, angiography, auscultation, and cardiac catheterization-and can be proven by pathological evidence at n...

Anatomic evidence for spontaneous closure of ventricular septal defect.

T HE PROBABILITY that postnatal spontaneous closure of ventricular septal defect occurs with some frequency has been evident to clinicians for a number of years. This postulate is based upon the presence of characteristic murmurs in childhood which disappear with the growth and development of the patient.1-7 Convincing evidence of spontaneous functional closure of ventricular septal defects is ...

Spontaneous closure of an acquired ventricular septal defect.

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a rare but serious complication of acute myocardial infarction requiring early surgical intervention. A patient with acquired VSD that spontaneously closed over three months is presented. The literature on spontaneous closure of acquired VSDs is also reviewed.

Spontaneous closure of ventricular septal defects in the first year of life.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The recent increase in the prevalence of ventricular septal defect (VSD) has been ascribed to the improved detection of small defects with echocardiography and the wider use of screening. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and timing of spontaneous closure of specific types of VSD in neonates using echocardiographic screening and follow-up. METHODS Tw...
